| Which Disney Princess would you be? | | I know that as a little girl I watched a lot of the Disney movies and now that I have a daughter of my own, she watches a lot of them as well. During the time that the movie is playing we are able to imagine that we are one of the princesses for a short time.So, I wondered which of the Disney Princesses you most relate to? Why is it that you think you could be that princess? Would this really be something that you would like to do?For me, I always saw myself as being Ariel from the Little Mermaid because I grew up swimming and I also love to sing. I don't know that I could have dealt with the problems that she had in her life, but overall I think that she is the most like me. | |

| | Disney's Princess and the Frog | | I am so excited about this movie!
I was raised on Disney, and I don't think I'll ever get tired of Disney movies.
Princess and the Frog is the first priness movie in a while, plus she's the first African American Disney princess. The movie's directed by the same two directors that did Aladdin and The Little Mermaid, and Oprah, John Goodman and Emeril are amoung the voice cast.
I'm really excited about the villain. His song looks really awesome- the animation for it is all voodoo-like with a Mexican Day of the Dead feel.
The movie comes out this friday (Dec 11th), will you go see it? | |
| | Is Disney Princess just as bad as Barbie dolls? | | I love Disney, don't get me wrong. But recently I was watching Aladdin with my kids, and it suddenly occurred to me how tiny Princess Jasmine's waist is, and how out of proportion! Looking through all the princesses, I found they are all this unrealistic shape, its just more noticeable on Jasmine because she has her midriff exposed.
Are these popular characters just as damaging to young girls as the old enemy, Barbie? | |
| | What is your favourite Disney princess? | | I was looking through some stuff from when I was younger and found some old Disney books: colouring books, story books, activities books of all kinds and sizes...
I remembered how I used to love those stories, wether it was in books or films... I loved those beautiful princesses who had to overcome difficulties to get to marry their prince!My favourite was Bella, from Beauty and the Beast. She was book smart and street smart, beautiful, caring, conscious and everything else I wanted to be:)

| | | Is Twilight just another Disney Princess Movie? | | I've read all the books and I enjoyed them very much. I've seen the movie twice and while it doesn't follow the book, it's still very enjoyable.I'm not trying to badmouth the books or the movies in any way. I'm just noticing that this theme in Twilight, well, I've seen it before.Make Edward a prince and ta-dah! It's now become the traditional Disney formula and you get a new Disney princess, Princess Isabella (because we already have Belle). I even commented to a friend of mine that I'm shocked that Disney didn't jump on the movie rights.And now there's the rumors that not one, but TWO of Disney's actresses are trying to get into the next movie. Vanessa Hudgens (High School Musical) and Brenda Song (The Suite Life of Zack & Cody) have both been rumored to have auditioned. Twilight movie people are denying the rumors though.But it makes sense, doesn't it? Disney recognizes it's own signature story when it sees it and if it can't run the show, it can at least throw a couple of their own characters in there. | |
